After Monday's appointment, I needed some good news at yesterday's appointment. Instead of there being none on the right side, there are a few small follicles and there are several good ones on the left. My Dr. was back from his vacation so he was able to do the ultrasound and told me everything was looking fine and that the little ones should have plenty of time to catch up. His advice...smile.
All my medications are still at the same dosage and I have my final ultrasound tomorrow. We will also find our when the retrieval and transfer will be next week! I'm feeling very excited, yet a little anxious. I'm ready for some good news after 4+ years of infertility. I'm just very glad to know the injections are almost done. They are actually becoming increasingly more painful because I am running out of good places to pinch my belly and all the injections have made my abdomen sensitive. The bruising has begun!
We had to take our dog to the vet yesterday, so we knew we wouldn't be home in time for me to have my injections. So we packed up the essentials and brought them to my parent's house in the little cooler they were packed in upon delivery. I was demonstrating my expertise in preparing the injections to my parents, when I decided to show them the extra 2" needle that comes on one of the syringes. As I was trying to place it back into the shield, I missed and proceeded to shove most of the needle into my middle finger on my left hand. Blood actually flew across the kitchen. My entire finger swelled up and turned an ugly green color. Lesson learned...keep sharp objects away from me!
