You can never be too prepared I suppose. So the "nursery" we've designated in our new house, should look the part. My 95 year old Grandma is going to be moving in with my parents in a few weeks. She's getting to the point where she needs assistance and my mom feels it's time for her independence to get tighter. She's still kicking it majorly and she'll most likely outlive all of us, but my mom will sleep better at night knowing she can keep a close eye on her.
So since my grandma is going to be the new roommate and leaving her 4 bedroom house full of furniture behind, my mom asked if she could borrow our spare-spare bed until they make arrangements for her furniture. Our niece and nephew have their own room at my parents house and now that my nephew is out of the crib, they both need a bed. We have the luxury of 3 spare bedrooms and two spare guest beds. I agreed to give her one of our spare beds that I actually had in college. It's currently residing in the "nursery" and I'm willing to part with it, for a price.
I decided a fair trade would be my several year old bed for a crib! My mom said sure! Kyle told her she was crazy because it wasn't an even trade. I said let me show you which one.
So we (and I do mean we! Kyle's itching to have a baby and all the trimmings) looked at a couple stores to be sure our original crib was still the one. And it is. We love the sleigh crib from Land of Nod with its espresso color, made in USA status, and solid maple construction.

Now that Restoration Hardware has released its new spring line, I noticed a new crib they offer. Kyle's reaction was that of "mmmhmm" but it's still a looker. Their Mirabeau crib is made of hardwood and veneers (boo), even though it cost a grand, but it doesn't mention anything about being made in the USA.

Plus RH has some new bedding that is lovely.

Maybe we're crazy and quite possibly jinxing ourselves, but after all the years of failed IF treatments, I don't see how it could be a curse to have a crib. Once we officially start the adoption process and begin our homestudy, we'll need a nursery set-up anyway. We hope we'll be blessed to adopt at least once, so the perfect nursery would be a dream come true as well. And we hope and pray our dreams are soon a reality!
Did I mention how fantastic this chaise from RH would look in our master suite?
