Ohhh Congratulations

I went to the store today to pick up a few things, among which, was prenatal vitamins. The lady scanning my items set them down before picking them back up and exclaiming, "Ohhh congratulations!" I looked at her and quickly responded, "Not yet." Which she replied with, "Oh, I'm just noisy sometimes." You think?

Fortunately, my nine and a half year old niece who was with me, missed this exchange and was none the wiser. She became aware that "we're having trouble getting pregnant" when she started asking for a cousin a couple years ago. Despite this uncomfortable moment (although, maybe that lady was on to something) I had a great day with our nephew and oldest niece at the zoo!
