There's no turning back

Tomorrow is the big day. No longer on birth control pills, but continuing the daily Lupron injections. Tomorrow's appointment should be a couple hours long and consist of the first blood test since starting any injections, ultrasound, and paying. We had a cashiers check drafted this morning for around $11,000. That check is only paying for the IVF & ICSI. All my meds are paid for and in the fridge. That came to around $2300. All that's left is the fee for Cyropreservation at $1000, anesthesia at $400 & the final blood test for pregnancy at $360.

I started to realize the other day this is our last chance. If this fails and we are able to freeze anything, then we plan to try once more. I'm anxious and nervous with a little hope mixed in. After reading the insert for the Menopur I found out I will be injecting myself with urine from postmenopausal women. It hit me seconds later where they came up with the name. One of the biggest risks associated with the Menopur is cardiac related. I've already been advised against continuing with the IVF from a Dr. who lost a patient with the same heart condition I have. I have full trust in my Drs. and my cardiologist gave me the go ahead after having extensive testing done. I have a whole list of questions to ask tomorrow so hopefully I can put some of my fears at bay.
