A week & a day

So much can change in just a mere 8 days. My previous post hinted at a life changing event that might possibly be in the making. That day brought other exciting news. A position was opening at the elementary school where I did my student teaching and I would have the opportunity to interview. And that very same day, we received news that we might have the chance to adopt a little boy!

The next day, I was able to interview with the city. At the end of the interview, I was asked to call the principal and schedule an interview. Little did I know, that would be the next afternoon. I had mixed feelings about my chances of being hired, but I was hoping for the best. By Thursday morning the principal had offered me the position and of course I accepted! It took 3 years, but I'm so excited to finally have the chance to prove myself and teach some pretty great kids. I started Monday and so far it's gone pretty well. I'm definitely looking forward to the future.

As far as the adoption, we're still waiting for news. Tomorrow we will hopefully find out any new developments. We only had to think about the offer for a few seconds. The opportunity is practically being handed to us. I truly feel it's meant to be, but I'm not getting my hopes up, in case it doesn't work out.

Regardless, I'm so grateful of the opportunities I've been given the past week and look forward to discovering what the future holds.
