Something else to consider...having a surrogate mother carry a pregnancy for us. I had never really considered this option, but now the more I think about it, the more I could go for it. Right now it's not something we plan to do anytime soon. We still have five embryos to try with. Plus, there is nothing medically wrong with me. Every time I go in for an ultrasound they always comment that I have a beautiful uterus. I'm very proud! My OBGYN has a surrogate already lined up for us, so if we ever get to that point we will be ready.
Last I heard my cardiologist denied our request to put two embies back. At this point, we have decided to respect his professional opinion, but we still plan to put two back. What harm could come of placing two back? I understand if it were to result in twins, we would have to quickly move forward with the Selective Reduction, which could also cause a natural abortion. The risks are there, but our desire to be parents far outweighs them. We are blind to the bad and we try to only see the good in every chance we have.
We are going out of town this weekend to visit our former college. That's where it all began for us. Hence the name, We Met At VT. It will be a chance to get away from reality for a few days and gain some sanity back! We need this!!! And hopefully once we return, the next cycle will begin and we'll have our chance to try once again. Looking forward to what's to come...
