We have a nursery!

After a few days break from unpacking after the unexpected loss of our beloved Walley, we were able to get quite a bit done over the weekend. It's definitely feeling more like home. We have most of the pictures & curtains hung. And last night I pulled my car in the garage for the first time!
While deciding where to put furniture, we had trouble explaining which spare room was which. Our room over the garage is our Hokie room which is intended to be a hang-out/media room. It's our favorite place to be in the house. The other two bedrooms finally got named over the weekend when Kyle announced the room closest to our room would be referred to as the nursery. That statement made my heart skip a beat.

We have a few boxes left to put away and then the fun of decorating can begin. We love all the things we have, but decided to try a new look in our bed & bath. All the rooms are painted a nice neutral color so there's no rush to paint. I've been on the hunt for some new bedding, so as soon as I find what I like, the room should come together. And we've found this time of year, a lot of stores are having great sales to make room for new stuff. We happened upon some curtains that would work perfectly in the Hokie room. We ended up buying 5 fully lined panels and two rods for $90. Now if I could only catch the silk champagne panels I've been eyeing for our bedroom on sale.

A new year, new home, and new start to the rest of our lives. Reflecting on the past year, but excited for the future!
