The title of this blog says it all. I could go into a deep, dark, depressing post, but I'll keep it light and airy instead.
A few years ago, Kyle discovered a show on NBC called "Friday Night Lights." It was created from the book and movie by the same name. At first I questioned his choice of tv shows, but after watching one episode I was hooked. We aren't big tv watching people, but there are a few shows that are a must watch in our home. By season two, I had several more members of my family addicted. This show was unbelievable and completely underrated.
The basis of the show is football in Texas with some beautiful people as the characters. The show feels very organic and incredibly real. It makes us want to move to Texas tomorrow. Our cell phones have the theme song set as the ring tone...we are obsessed. Although we started watching it on NBC for the first couple of seasons, Directv picked it up a few years back. We watch it on Directv a whole season before it's shown on NBC. We are able to watch it twice!
Now, FNL is in it's fifth and final season. Each episode is equally amazing, but it's difficult to know our addiction will soon come to an end. After the credits rolled last week, I turned to Kyle and said living without FNL is almost as bad as knowing we can't have children. It's something we look forward to...well, live for...each week. In all reality it doesn't compare to infertility, but it's bar-none the best show on tv. One day when we finally have a family, we will introduce our children to the story behind FNL.
Until then, we'll just have to soak up the final season.
